Manco Energy History
We are often asked, where did the name Manco come from? The name Manco is derived from the key words Managing and Countryside.
We recognised from an early stage that fuel supply was the key to the successful use of Biomass (green energy) in the reduction of CO2 emissions. We have allocated considerable resources into developing dependable fuel supply chains. These include:
  • Straw in both large bale and pellets
  • Virgin timber from the UK in the form of wood chip, wood pellets and sawdust
  • Sawdust and wood pellets from Eastern Europe, Canada and Asia
  • Olive residue from Spain
  • Reed Canary Grass from the UK and Canada
For large volume users Olive reside and Reed Canary Grass are especially relevant.

Miscanthus is a very exciting energy crop which is predicted to have a profound effect on home grown renewable energy provision in the near future.

Manco Energy Ltd has been involved with the growing and management of Short Rotation Coppice (SRC) for the last six years. We are now working with both growers and grower groups to find alternative outlets for the harvested products.
